I met Tiffany and Rob in the Arnold Arboretum last week, right after Lilac Sunday. The lilac trees were blooming in a mix of soft and vibrant purples, perfectly matched by Tiffany’s vibrant purple hair.
The Arboretum is broad and beautiful, so we explored it together. We wandered off the path and up a steep grassy hill, following the light and whatever trees caught our interest. As the sun was setting, we even discovered the tree equivalent of a hairless cat – the strange and shiny Paperbark Maple in the Leventritt Shrub and Vine Garden.
These two were up for anything I suggested – snuggling in a field of dandelions, dancing romantically on a secluded leaf strewn path, running dramatically and in slow motion across a grassy field. And they had me cracking up the entire time, with model pouts and crazy poses and a shimmering enthusiasm for the day, the park, and for each other.
As the afternoon flew by, the same wish kept coming into my head again and again: “May you keep making each other laugh like this for the rest of your lives.”
