This week, I hosted a styled shoot at Night Shift Brewing in Everett. A styled shoot is essentially an editorial style wedding photoshoot. It was amazing because I got to realize an ideal wedding vision while collaborating with an incredible bunch of wedding vendors!
Nightshift has been hosting weddings for the past year and it’s such a cool, unique space. It’s industrial, with solid wood tables, heavy iron fixtures, two rooms with two gorgeous bars, and of course, a ton of delicious beer. There’s also a great outdoor patio space, where guest can play corn hole and snag their dinner from a food truck. If you live in the area, I definitely suggest checking it out any night of the week!
With the help of an incredible vendor team, we transformed the space into a romantic, vintage wedding ceremony and reception, lit by soft candles and a crackling fireplace, and surrounded by beautiful vintage details. Jeni from Inspiration Rental set up a gorgeous tablescape with cream colored antique linens, vintage books, and brass candlesticks. The place settings were made up of mismatched floral china, gold flatware, and green glass goblets from her incredible collection.
Jeni also set up a beautiful altar space made of vintage ladders and doors, with small vignettes of antique cameras, clocks, and books to set the mood. Anne from Garden and Roads added soft floral touches to the tables and the altar, with vines meandering through the vignettes and a gorgeous hoop arrangement drawing the eye into the space. White roses, eucalyptus leaves, and the most fragrant, fluttery pink tulips filled the bridal bouquets.
Our beautiful models were a real couple, not married (and not actually models), but such a sweet connected pair, that they made it easy to capture their very real romance. Jenny Luu styled their gorgeous updos while Creative Contour by Carla provided stunning makeup in golds and soft pinks. The women looked beautiful in their complementary lace dresses from Lulu’s.
Kristen from Left With Love Calligraphy provided a custom invitation suite, hand lettered table numbers, a mirrored seating chart, and an adorable chalkboard sign that connected with the brewery theme. Susan from Susan La Reau Events worked her incredible styling magic, making a hundred last minute decisions and elevating the look of every single piece with her stellar eye for detail, form, and balance.
I created a cheese wheel cake – scroll down if you’re not sure what I’m talking about – made of several different kinds of cheese and Susan styled it with beautiful herbs from Anne’s garden. Jessica of Jessica Herndon Photography shot with me, adding her angles and expertise to capturing all of the beauty in this shoot. (We have shot together a couple of times before, and I love working with her!)
I loved how every single vendor got to do the thing they are so talented at and so passionate about. I loved how all the pieces came together, blending to form a beautiful whole. I loved capturing their work and showing it off to you. I hope you love it as much as I do!
