Have you ever been to Wingaersheek beach on the North Shore?
If not, I recommend that you go there. Preferably in late September, when it’s cool and almost deserted. You can explore the dunes, spotted with flowers and meandering bumblebees. You can climb boulders and splash in the surf and search for shells. You can look across the small bay at the lighthouse flickering in the distance.
The sunset will surely catch your breath, as it casts a golden glow on the houses and turns the sky to purple, pink, and blue.
And after you’ve had your fill of running, playing, and swimming, your family will want to snuggle a little closer, as the cool night sweeps in.
And it will be beautiful. It will be everything.
